Frequently Asked Questions
About IV Therapy & Wellness

Everything you need to know before your first visit to our Shelton, CT wellness center

General IV Therapy

What is IV therapy and how does it work?

IV (intravenous) therapy delivers fluids, vitamins, minerals, and nutrients directly into your bloodstream through a small catheter placed in a vein. Because nutrients bypass the digestive system, absorption is near 100% — far more effective than oral supplements. At Rehydrate IV Infusion in Shelton, CT, all sessions are administered by our licensed Registered Nurse under the supervision of our Medical Director. Learn more about IV infusion therapy benefits.

Is IV therapy safe?

When administered by licensed medical professionals, IV therapy is generally well-tolerated. At Rehydrate IV Infusion, all sessions are supervised by our Medical Director, Karolina Dudzik, DNP, and performed by our Registered Nurse, Dominika Smaga, RN. We conduct a health intake assessment prior to each session to ensure suitability. Individual results may vary. We recommend consulting your primary care physician if you have any underlying medical conditions.

How long does an IV infusion session take?

Most IV infusion sessions take between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the infusion type and your individual flow rate. Some treatments, such as NAD+ therapy, may take longer. You are welcome to relax, read, or work on a device during your session at our Shelton, CT wellness center.

How often should I get IV therapy?

Frequency depends on your wellness goals and the specific infusion. Some clients benefit from weekly sessions, while others prefer bi-weekly or monthly visits. Our team will discuss a personalized schedule that may support your individual needs during your intake consultation.

Will I feel results immediately?

Many clients report feeling a difference during or shortly after their session — such as increased energy or improved hydration. Individual results may vary. Some wellness benefits may develop over time and with consistent sessions as part of an ongoing routine.

Can I get IV therapy if I'm pregnant or nursing?

We recommend consulting your OB-GYN or primary care physician before booking if you are pregnant or nursing. Certain infusions may not be suitable during pregnancy. Our team will carefully review your health history during the intake process.

What should I eat or drink before my session?

We recommend eating a light meal and staying well-hydrated before your appointment. Arriving on an empty stomach may increase the likelihood of lightheadedness. Drinking water beforehand also makes vein access easier and more comfortable.

Are there any side effects?

IV therapy is generally well-tolerated. Some clients may experience minor bruising or temporary discomfort at the insertion site. In rare cases, a cool sensation or mild lightheadedness during the infusion may occur. Our clinical team monitors you throughout your entire session and will address any concerns immediately.
